The Shooting League of India (SLI) is the country’s first-ever franchise-based league dedicated to Olympic shooting — backed by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) and supported by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF). The shooting sport world is ready to return to India this year, as the ISSF Junior World Cup is to be hosted in New Delhi from 24 September to 2 October 2025. This addition comes after approval by the ISSF Executive Committee during its meeting in Rome in November. New Delhi was part of the 2024 calendar, hosting the season-ending ISSF World Cup Final event in October.

The First Kerala State Olympic Games in Rifle & Pistol Shooting is to be held on 7th & 8th of May 2022 at Vattiyoorkavu Shooting Ranges, Thiruvananthapuram. There will be an inauguration ceremony on 7th Morning and a closing ceremony on 8th Evening. Rifle Events will take place on 7th May and Pistol Events will be held on 8th May.

The first place in the ISSF World Cup Medal Standing was taken by India with 7 medals (4 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze), the second by Norway with 6 medals (3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze), the third by France with 3 gold medals. More than 500 athletes from 64 countries took part in the competition which was conducted at Cairo, Egypt.

Due to covid conditions in India, the selection of teams for ISSF World Cup was picked after taking into consideration the qualification score along with final ranking points of the 64th National Championship Competition. The ISSF World Cup Refile/Pistol, Cairo Egypt is scheduled to be held from February 26 to March 8.

The First Kerala Olympic Games will be conducted from February 15 to 24 in Trivandrum. The dates for all sports events including shooting events are yet to announce. ( Update: The games postponed due to increase in Covid Cases )

The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has terminated the contracts of all the 24 national junior and senior coaches who were involved with the Indian shooting team in Tokyo Olympic 2022.
